Franks Hall, Kent
Franks Hall, Kent
1113
This carefully descriptive yet attractively brushed watercolour is a fine example of the interiors of England's great country houses, which are probably Nash's most celebrated works, and among the finest of their type in British art.
The present work is closely related to the lithograph of Franks Hall, Kent, which was plate 16 in the disbound book, 'The Mansions of England in the Olden Time', first series (London: T. M'Lean, 1839).
