Escaping the Rain
Escaping the Rain
1222
In this dramatic print, Percival captures the moment when a heavy rain shower forces a farm-worker quickly to seek cover in a faryard building. The vigour of the handling clearly shows that he relished his new-found etching process.
We have not seen any record of other Percival etchings appearing on the market, and it may be that this example and its companion on this website, both prints made from the original plates in the late 20th century, are unique survivors of Percival's skills as an etcher.
