The handles are cast and are very finely modelled as a detailed dolphins swimming through the waves. The fish slice has a reed and foliate border and central section pierced and engraved pluming foliate scrolls and flower heads. The fork has four tines and a section above pierced and engraved with the same floral scroll work, as seen on the slice. Both are of the finest quality in terms of design and production, being of an exceptional gauge and weight, and both are very well marked. The Slice and Fork are in excellent condition and are also engraved with the same contemporary Crest, which is the Crest of the Ormerod family of London and Tyldesley, Lancashire. The Fork has been very well made at a later date to match the slice, when a duo of fish servers became more practical to serve fish, rather than just the slice.
Length of the slice: 11 inches, 27.5 cm.
Length of the fork: 9.45 inches, 23.63 cm.
