Natalie Bird

Natalie is a landscape artist who paints in oils, watercolour and pastel. Her aim is to create atmospheric paintings, based on observation, conveying a connection to a place she has recently visited. Light is her inspiration, and how it affects everything we see.

She sketches and paints as much as possible from life "en plein air" and works further on paintings back in the studio, relying on recent studies, memories and notes.

She studied Art History and Architecture at university. Having worked full time for the NHS over 20 years, she now works part-time in order to focus more on her painting.

She is married and lives in South West London near Wimbledon Common. She has been selected on a number of occasions to exhibit at the Mall Galleries, and has also had a painting accepted for the RA summer exhibition.
