Sue Stitt

Digital iPad Artist

Advances in the digital world have transformed the way I now approach my images and I've been impressed with the freedom and creativity that it allows. My current pieces showcase the result of a gradual learning curve from much research on how to use vector Apps on the iPad to create digital images. So far, this has been an excellent and rewarding experience; although not considered a traditional technique, for me, drawing and designing on the touchscreen of my iPad pro with an Apple pencil, continues to be an enjoyable new challenge.

The images are then Giclee printed locally on Archival Matt, 315gsm, 100% Cotton rag which captures the clarity, brightness and longevity I strive for. Previously when working for Usborne Publishing as a children's book illustrator, I painted with LUMA concentrated watercolours which faded rapidly in the light. So far I have chosen to create limited editions from 25 - 195. When the run comes to a close, the file is then deleted.

The Isle of Wight has been my home for the past 20 years now. The varied scenery and the vibrant events held here has been my inspiration and I hope that I have managed to encapsulate what makes the Island so special. Also, as a keen sailor, I have been fortunate to participate in Cowes Weeks, Round the Island races and other cruising and racing events both locally and in some rather far flung places, all of which have had their influence .
