Nude Model with a Bob, Seated, in the Life Studio
Nude Model with a Bob, Seated, in the Life Studio
This strong drawing was likely made in the life studio at the RCA, and may even show the same seated model with a bob drawn in a 1924 pen and ink, charcoal and chalk drawing of similar dimensions by Henry Moore (with Osborne Samuel), as well as in drawings in the Henry Moore Foundation collection. At some stage, the drawing was cut down and folded for framing under the present mount. The third image shows the drawing unfolded.
Dimensions:
c.1924
Pencil and chalk
Inscribed indistinctly Corp… or Coop (?) in blue pencil, top right perhaps by a Royal College of Art tutor. The sheet is folded under the mount. The third image shows the work unfolded, revealing the model's lower legs, as well as the indistinct inscription.
