This very rare wine label is oval in form with a bold gadrooned rim.  It is engraved with the very rare title of LATOUR.  It is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked.  Chateau Latour is a French wine from the Bordeaux area.  It was rated as a First Growth under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification system.  The estates grand vin is one of the most expensive Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot wines made in the Medoc region.  For example, an imperiale (six litre bottle) of 1961 Chateau Latour sold for £ 135,000 in 2011.  This label came from a set which were made for the Dukes of Westminster and which were sold by Christies's in 2004.
