The Cream Jug stands on a square pedestal foot which is engraved with bright cut and prick dot designs and also displays a reeded circular band. The main body is modelled in the helmet form and has a reeded rim. The sides are engraved with floral and foliate garlands, scrolls and an upper bright cut border. The front displays a vacant oval bright cut cartouche engraved with foliate sprigs above and below. The Jug is in excellent condition, has a reeded loop handle, and is fully marked in the foot. Similar Jugs can be seen on Plate III & IV of "Hester Bateman - Queen of English Silversmiths" by David Shure.
Height, to the top of the handle: 6 inches, 15cm.
Length, handle to spout: 4.45 inches, 11.13 cm.
