Pair of Clam Boxes designed by Alan Fletcher in the late 1960s, published by Mebel in Italy.

Each box is made of two identical moulded plastic shells that interlock via a clever serrated-edge system, inspired by the rounded shape of Edam cheese. The blue and yellow colours are bold and vivid, reflecting the pop aesthetic of the time.

Both practical and visually striking, they can be used as catch-alls, desk containers or simply as decorative pieces. They can be displayed individually or together.

Each piece is signed: "Mebel, Italy, des. A. Fletcher"

Italy, circa 1970.
